Round Table Discussion

This roundtable discussion is organized as a platform to bring together diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise from participants involved in the relevant field. Through open and interactive dialogue, the session aims to encourage constructive exchange of ideas while identifying key issues that impact current developments. By adopting a collaborative approach, this roundtable is expected to foster deeper understanding and generate practical and relevant solutions. 

Objectives

 

This initiative aims to strengthen strategic collaboration between the university and industry by fostering meaningful partnerships that bridge academic excellence with real-world practice. It focuses on facilitating the exchange of knowledge, experience, and practical insights to ensure that learning remains relevant and industry-aligned. Through this collaboration, the program seeks to enhance graduate employability by equipping students with the skills, competencies, and professional exposure required in today’s competitive market. Ultimately, it is committed to developing competent, innovative, and industry-ready human capital capable of contributing effectively to national and global development.

Roundtable Discussion on Semiconductor Workforce Development

Forging Innovations in Agricultural Technology, Food Security, and Artificial Intelligence

Session aimed to align UMPSA researchers with current industry challenges, fostering innovative solutions that span from core research to talent development.

Six agriculture and food security partners were paired with the UMPSA Bioaromatic Research Centre: Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Perniagaan Peladang (MADA) Sdn Bhd, Gelamekar Sdn Bhd, Aqina Biotech Industries Sdn Bhd, Nasza Pest Control Sdn Bhd and Tanah Makmur Berhad (along with its subsidiary, Rompin Integrated Pineapple Industries Sdn Bhd).

Additionally, nine AI sector partners were matched with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: Netstratum Technologies Sdn Bhd, Mesolitica Sdn Bhd, Datalytica Sdn Bhd, Kanaz Group of Companies, the National AI Office (NAIO), KPJ Healthcare University, Gardenia Bakery (KL) Sdn Bhd, Geospatial AI Sdn Bhd, and Bank Rakyat.

UMPSA Industry Challenge and Innovative Solution Matching Session

The program aimed to address industry challenges and explore new avenues for innovation. Emphasized the importance of translating academic research into practical solutions that positively impact the economy and society.

During the interactive roundtable sessions, industry representatives including Akie Group Sdn Bhd, Prodigy Dynamic Solution, and Metairflow R&D Sdn Bhd shared their sector-specific challenges. In response, UMPSA researchers from various backgrounds, proposed innovative technological applications and targeted solutions. This productive dialogue marks a promising first step toward closer industry-university partnerships aimed at solving technical challenges and driving continuous innovation.
